Ignoring luxury watches in the past was permissible because of exorbitant prices, yet time and seasons have brought the costs to a level most people can afford. Luxury watches are instruments for expressing personalities and elegance with little show-off. But the challenge in buying a luxury watch lies in sorting through the many options out there. We took our time to review the best entry-level luxury watches based on versatility, accessible price, and reputable brands. This selection will make classic options worth adding to your collection. These brands have a reputation and are obsessed with quality and craftsmanship.

1. Rolex Oyster Perpetual

The Oyster Perpetual is the essence of the Rolex brand, having taken its name from the brand’s groundbreaking waterproof Oyster case and self-winding perpetual movement. The Oyster Perpetual is the most minimalistic and modest model of Rolex with an automatic caliber and water-resistant up to 100m. The 36mm and 41mm models, capable of 70-hour power reserve and proprietary blue para chrome hairspring, are powered by the next generation Calibre 3230 with the Chronergy escapement. The three smaller versions used the Caliber 2232, a powerful machine capable of a 55-hour power reserve. It features the Syloxi silicon hairspring, which is an improvement in the Parachrom technology. However, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual is a versatile and handsomely robust watch with varying green, coral, red, yellow, and blue colors. 2. Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight

Absent in the US market for almost ten years, the Tudor brand, the sibling firm of Rolex, came back in 2013 with all-new great watches, vintage-inspired, and contemporary models. The Tudor Black Bay represents an excellent watch model with the right and fantastic integration of many complications and various styles. Debuted in 2018, the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight remains the most popular model of the range. It features a blue dial variant with sterling silver version, 18k yellow gold model, and full-bronze references fitting the bronze bracelet. With an excellent, brushed steel case, aluminum insert within the wide angles giving you the proper matter finish, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight comes made with 39mm size and red triangle at noon with snowflake hands. The Tudor brand features MT5402 in-house movement, replacing the ETA 2824-2 Tudor used for the smaller timepieces. Supported by the silicon hairspring, the caliber performs accurate and reliable functions. Available in stainless steel of black or blue dial and bezel and 18k yellow gold with green dial in sterling silver and taupe dial. It could also come in a full bronze version with a brown dial and bronze bracelet with impressive design, or color-fitting leather and nylon straps.

3. Omega Seamaster Diver 300M

Released in 1993, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M began the resurgence of the brand. It had received the best market push when Pierce Brosnan won the capable and great-looking timepiece in its debut as 007 in Goldeneye. The original Seamaster 300M began its journey as part of the brand’s 1957 Professional Collection. The model features a stainless steel bracelet. Designed between 42mm vs. 41mm, the Seamaster Diver 300M comes integrated with a helium escape valve. The timepiece has an appealing laser-etched wave pattern; the model comes integrated with Omega Master Chronometer Caliber 8800, complete with Co-Axial escapement and METAS certification. The stone pieces featuring yellow or Sedna gold are eye-catchers, and it’s difficult to consider another luxury diver to watch the Seamaster 300M.

4. Breitling Superocean Automatic

Designed to compete with dive luxury watches such as the Omega Seamaster, Blancpain Fifty-Fathoms, and Rolex Submariner, the Breitling Superocean with a 200M water resistance score competes well with the Rolex and Omega’s models while outshining the Blancpain in-depth rating. Breitling Superocean series features 42mm, 44mm, 48mm, and 36mm case sizes. The 36mm case size was designed for ladies while the bolder version was for the male folk; the 42mm Automatic remains the most affordable men’s Breitling model. Most of the Superocean versions are modern, yet there are many models within the Superocean Heritage lineup. It features a bold dial of Arabic numerals plus an excellent lume-filled geometric shape with the date window fixed at 3 o’clock.

The Breitling engine operating at 28,800vph frequency and capable of 38-hour reserve, is powered by 17 movements designed around the reliable ETA 2824-2. Rated at least 200M water resistance, the Breitling Superocean Automatic comes with different dial colors, a matching stainless steel bracelet, and a color-matched rubber strap. It could feature the nylon NATO strap from recycled plastics. The Superocean model is an accomplished and smart-looking timepiece that can suit any wrist.
